MEETINGS ARE EVERY TUESDAY at 10 PM. Located inside St. Robs 361.
All students welcome, even if this is your first meeting.
Hey new LMU students!
Welcome little freshies and transfer students to our humble (still under construction) GSA webpage. How are you all? That's OK don't answer, I figure I have about one more paragraph of typing until you get bored and click away.
So what's so special about our club? Well, aside from the fact we were voted by LMU as the greatest people ever*?
The truth is, there's no exact reason why we're so great. Its everything, the whole GSA experience that makes us so ridiculously awesome and unique. Sure we put on eye-opening, groundbreaking educational programs, but that's not what you neccesarily want to hear about, huh? Don't answer that either.
*(I'm lying)
Our social programs by far exceed any other club's, because... well, we like to have fun. This past year alone, we've gone to some hot clubs, had a 3-day getaway at a gorgeous cabin in the woods, camped outside in a makeshift cardboard house, movie nights, bonfires, why the list goes on and on. To put it simply: you'll meet so many people you would not otherwise ever have spoken to, and in the end we all become one giant, slightly dysfunctional family.
Fight for equality and have the time of your life? Brilliant! Below is compilation video that premiered at our LGBT Gayla (did I mention our parties?), made by yours truly, showing moment caught on camera. Well, the appropriate ones, at least.
Interested yet? Because all of this is exhausting. You don't have anything to lose by coming to a meeting. Whether our very first meeting, or in the middle of a semester, we'll gladly welcome you. I'm bordering on begging, so now I'm going to stop.
Our meeting time is every Tuesday at 10 PM, in St. Robs 361. We'll see you there.
Mission Statement
The purpose of the LMU Gay-Straight Alliance is to provide safe social, emotional, and educational support for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning (GLBTQ), and ally populations on campus and in the surrounding communities. The Gay-Straight Alliance also acts as an educational student organization to provide greater awareness of the issues that concern the members themselves, the university, and the surrounding communities.
Club Meetings
GSA meets every Tuesday night at 10:00 PM in St. Rob's 261. Everyone and anyone is welcome to come, even if it is just to watch. No assumptions are ever made about a person's sexuality unless they desire to share with the group. Meetings usually begin with introductions and cover upcoming social events and activism projects. Check the Events section for more information.
